CARCAR CITY — Seventy-nine undocumented hogs seized last month in Dumanjug town, southwest Cebu, found their way onto residents' plates as roasted pork or lechon during All Souls' Day celebrations on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Local authorities served the lechon to residents visiting public cemeteries as an unexpected treat that Dumanjug Mayor Efren Guntrano Gica described as "a way to minimize potential health risks while promoting transparency in handling seized livestock."
