The Taiwan government on October 31 announced a donation of US$ 150,000 to the Philippine government in response to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine that hit the Philippines, resulting in the death of over one hundred Filipinos and displaced hundreds of thousands.

On behalf of the people and government of Taiwan, Ambassador Wallace Chow, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) to the Philippines sincerely expressed his deep condolences to Chairperson and Resident Representative Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO).
