BACOLOD CITY — After nearly a week at sea, two fishermen arrived home to their respective families in Cadiz City on Friday.Edwin Hinojales, 17, and Joren Parochil, 22, went fishing on Oct. 26 unaware of the impending storm.When Severe Tropical Storm Kristine affected the country and the fishermen failed to return home on time, they were reported missing by their family members who were unable to contact them by phone.Hinojales and Parochil were eventually rescued by local fisherfolk off the coast of Naboctot, a village in Placer, Masbate province, said a report by the Philippine Coast Guard Northern Negros District.Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. and businessman Allan Daniel facilitated a fishing vessel to bring the fishermen back to Cadiz.Upon arrival, they underwent a medical examination before going home to their respective houses.Meanwhile, Coast Guard Northern Negros District commander Jansen Benjamin said they have deployed several response groups on rubber boats for a search and rescue mission for the two missing fishermen from Barangay Banago in Bacolod City who went out to sea on Oct. 30.
