THE Schools Division Office (SDO) of Gapan City in Nueva Ecija has been recognized by the national government and the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) for its effective resource management and impressive student achievement, positioning it as a model for public school financing across the Philippines.
In a field visit made by Education Secretary Sonny Angara and Second Congressional Committee on Education (EdCom 2) co-chairman Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian on Oct. 29, they learned that strong parental and local government unit (LGU) support enabled the learners in Gapan to earn a 95-percent score in the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment and above-average scores in the National Achievement Tests (NAT6 and NAT10).
