SHOWING a touching empathy and respect on All Souls' Day, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) held memorial services in various operating and prison farms on Saturday for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who died during their incarceration.
According to BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., since Nov. 9, 2022, when he assumed his position, the remains of 384 PDLs have been interred at the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) Cemetery, including 20 PDLs whose remains were to rest on Oct. 24, after their relatives failed to claim them.
