LATE Thursday, just before government offices closed for the holiday, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin issued a memorandum reinstating Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chairperson Monalisa Dimalanta to her post, following an order from Ombudsman Samuel Martires that lifted the six-month preventive suspension he had imposed on her on Sept. 5. We strongly protested the Ombudsman's suspension order when it was issued, along with virtually everyone in the energy sector and the major business groups, so we are pleased to commend Ombudsman Martires for doing the right thing.
