MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared November 4 this year as a national day of mourning in honor of the lives lost and families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami), Malacañang said Saturday.
The President, through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, signed on Oct. 30, 2024 Proclamation 728, ordering the Philippine flag to be flown at half-staff nationwide and in
all Philippine government posts abroad on the national day of mourning.
Marcos said the national day of mourning was declared "in solidarity with the bereaved families and loved ones of those who perished due to the devastation" that Kristine brought.
