Weighing the cost of ending mother tongue education

IN a recent and contentious development, the government has chosen to terminate the use of the mother tongue as a medium of instruction in early education.

Recently approved legislation codified this decision that elicits a broad range of opinions from educators, parents and cultural activists who recognize the importance of learning and cultural preservation.
