MANILA, Philippines — It will be challenging for former president Rodrigo Duterte to retract his statements during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing regarding the killings associated with the war on drugs because he swore to all of them, Senate President Chiz Escudero said on Tuesday.

The Senate chief said this was the difference: although the former President said nothing new, he announced it in the Senate "under oath," he spoke as far as he knew that could be used in his favor or against him.
