PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday witnessed the signing of a concession agreement for the Laguindingan International Airport public-private partnership project, an initiative said to prove the government's commitment to invest in regional development.

The P12.75-billion project was awarded to Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC) earlier this month. The Aboitiz Group's infrastructure unit had submitted an unsolicited proposal to upgrade the four airports in 2019 and was given original proponent status for the Laguindingan facility in 2019.
