LEGAZPI CITY — Government troops conducting relief operations in Pioduran, Albay were ambushed by communist guerrillas, the Philippine National Police in Bicol reported.
LtCol. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol Police regional spokesman, said that the soldiers belonging to the Philippine Army's 9th Infantry Spear Division (9ID) encountered the rebels in Barangay Matanglad, Pioduran town in Albay while conducting relief operations.
