DEPARTMENT of Tourism (DoT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco highlighted the crucial role of local government units (LGUs) in advancing sustainable tourism and community development during her keynote address at the 2024 League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Visayas Island Cluster Conference on October 22.

In her speech, Frasco expressed gratitude to the Visayas local chief executives, acknowledging their dedication to local governance. She reflected on her own experience as a former mayor, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the voices and needs of municipalities are at the forefront of national policies.
