OUR high school class of 1954 and college class of 1958 from the Assumption Convent School was the Platinum Class for the Assumption Old Girls' Velada this year. This means it has been 70 years out of high school and 66 years out of college. Most of us are in our mid-80s, if we were the younger members of the class, and the rest are pushing 90.
Our graduation was from Assumption — then on Herran, now Pedro Gil Street. It's now no longer Assumption, but a mall. Assumption has since moved to Makati and Antipolo. That is how much change we have seen.
