E. COLI food poisoning linked to McDonald's Quarter Pounder hamburgers has sickened at least 49 people in 10 states, including one who died and 10 who were sent to the hospital, United States federal health officials said on Tuesday.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identified the fatality as an older person in Chicago, Illinois, and among those who fell ill was a child hospitalized with severe kidney complications.
