MANILA, Philippines — At least five major dams in Luzon released water on Thursday as they were close to their spilling levels following continuous rain from Severe Tropical Storm "Kristine."

Nathaniel Servando, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Administrator told The Manila Times on Thursday that they have to open the control gates of Ipo Dam in Norzagaray, Bulacan; Ambuklao and Binga in Benguet; San Roque in Pangasinan and Magat in Isabela.
