CEBU CITY — The fight for the reelection of two dismissed Cebu mayors is far from over as the Supreme Court issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) on Monday, preventing the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from disqualifying Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes.

Both officials, dismissed by the Ombudsman and facing perpetual disqualification from holding public office, are challenging Comelec's ruling that barred them from running in the 2025 elections.
