AS Barangay Ginebra players were celebrating the team's Finals trip in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup at the Gin Kings dugout Sunday night, coach Tim Cone admitted that their semifinal loss to the Meralco Bolts in last season's Philippine Cup motivated them to do better against San Miguel Beer.
Though Cone has always said time and time again how important it is for them to move forward, somehow, that semifinal series defeat to the Bolts, who went on to win the franchise's first-ever league championship, left a bad taste in the Gin Kings' mouth.
