Security experts warn vs easing telco restrictions

MANILA, Philippines — Security experts highlighted the threat posed by foreign cyber entities as the Philippines plans to relax restrictions on telecommunications regulation through the controversial Konektadong Pinoy Act or Senate Bill 2699.

At the Asian Defense and Security Exhibition 2024, Stratbase ADR Institute President Prof. Dindo Manhit said that 'fortified defense against cyber threats is a key element in realizing a peaceful, secure, and stable Indo-Pacific.'
