Proposed power project in Malico rejected

SANTA FE — The provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya has expressed opposition to the FDC Renewables Corp.'s proposed 33.40 megawatts Pampang Hydroelectric Power Project (PHePP) in Barangay Malico in this town because it will only 'deprive residents and Indigenous peoples of the benefits from abundant water resources.'

A letter cum position paper from Gov. Jose Gambito detailing several reasons why the provincial government is opposing the proposed project was sent to Nicanor Esteban, Environment Management Bureau Region 1 officer in charge regional director and concurrent Clearance and Permitting Division chief.

TRACES OF WW II In Barangay Malico in Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya — a seven-hour drive from Metro Manila — lie hidden treasures such as pristine forests, majestic pine trees and a cold foggy embrace of nature, among others, and one can even discover traces of World War II evidence like this Sherman M4 Prototype Tank in this upland village.
