MANILA, Philippines — The state-run weather agency said on Sunday that a low pressure area (LPA) was expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) anytime within the day and would develop into a tropical depression to be named "Kristine."
Spotted some 1, 395 kilometers east of Southern Luzon, the LPA will likely enter the country either in the afternoon or at night, according to weather specialist Grace Castañeda of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
