Pastors Appreciation Month: Filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions

ON Oct. 16, 2024, I was invited to be guest speaker by the Quezon Pastors Association during their Pastors Appreciation event in Tagaytay City. The event was attended by more than a hundred Christian pastors and leaders hailing from the second district of the great province of Quezon.

Because it was an event in line with the monthlong Pastors Appreciation Month, I had the urge to share on the topic, 'The work of filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions.' This phrase alludes to the verse in Colossians‬ chapter 1,‬ specifically verse 24,‬ which, in the English Standard Version, says, 'Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.'
