THE Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) celebrated its 60th founding anniversary at the historic Centro de Turismo Intramuros on October 5.

The event was a grand gathering of design luminaries, industry partners and esteemed guests, all gathered to commemorate the organization's rich history and unwavering commitment to design excellence.

The event highlighted PIID's remarkable journey, marked by significant milestones that have shaped the landscape of PIID. Since its inception in 1964, PIID has been a driving force in the professionalization and advancement of interior design in the Philippines.

The organization's unwavering dedication has led to the establishment of the first Interior Design Licensure Examination in 1983, the recognition of PIID as the official Accredited Professional Organization for interior designers in 1992, and the landmark passage of the Philippine Interior Design Act or the Republic Act 8534 in 1998.

PIID's influence extends beyond national borders, with memberships in the Asia Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA) and the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers.
