NILO Rosas, PhD, former president of New Era University (NEU) was appointed as assistant secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. effective Oct. 4, 2024, according to the Presidential Communications Office.

Rosas assumed the NEU presidency in June 2013 and was replaced by Alberto Domingo Jr., PhD, in February 2023. Since then, Rosas has been appointed and serves as a member of the NEU Board of Trustees.
