Former Parañaque City Philippine Information Agency chief and Team Bagong Parañaque Councilor Rina Gabriel (center) officially files her certificate of candidacy (CoC) on Monday, October 7, for the May 2025 midterm elections. She is joined by incumbent District 1 Rep. Edwin Olivarez and other candidates from the Team Bagong Parañaque political party. Reports indicate that current Mayor Eric Olivarez will run for the District 1 representative seat while his brother, Rep. Edwin Olivarez, is set to run for mayor, effectively switching roles. Gabriel aims to succeed her husband, incumbent District 1 Councilor Pablo Gabriel Jr., who will step down after completing three terms in office.
