CEBU CITY — Dismissed Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes has taken his case to the Supreme Court as he seeks to uphold the validity of his certificate of candidacy (CoC) for the 2025 midterm elections.

Cortes filed a petition on Wednesday, challenging the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Resolution 1104-A, which aims to cancel his candidacy.
