MANILA, Philippines — Two-time Filipino Olympian pole vaulter Ernest John "EJ" Obiena on Wednesday called on netizens to stop comparing the private and family lives of fellow Olympian and two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo and himself.

In a statement on his social media platforms, Obiena said he wanted to stay silent on the issue but called the comparisons a "sad state of affairs".
