THE column of Rigoberto Tiglao, titled "Truth requires research to yield hard data" (The Manila Times, Oct. 4, 2024), is timely. He was criticizing the column of Fr. Ranhilio Aquino, defending Israel's recent actions in the Middle East. Tiglao cited the Aquino column as "x x x an excellent example of this lying-by-omission tack."

Well said by Tiglao. However, the issue is: Does Tiglao practice what he preaches? Let us look at his recent column criticizing my proposal to submit the West Philippine Sea (WPS) dispute to the United Nations, which he claimed is "harebrained." To support his thesis, he claimed the following:
