JUNE Mar Fajardo had to bring out every ounce of his strength to lift San Miguel Beer to a hard-fought quarterfinal series win against a young, pesky, and title-hungry Converge team Sunday night.

The 6-foot-10 Fajardo finished the winner-take-all Game 5 with 40 points and 24 rebounds to lift the Beermen to a heart-stopping 109-105 triumph over the FiberXers in Antipolo City.
