La Salle denies UP of first round sweep, rolls to third straight win

MANILA, Philippines — Defending champion De La Salle University denied UP of a first round sweep with a 68-56 win, rolling to its third straight victory in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena Sunday.

Reigning MVP Kevin Quiambao poured 20 points and 10 rebounds for La Salle in the battle of last year's finalists as the Green Archers extended their mastery over the Fighting Maroons to three straight games, the first two being the last two games of last year's finals.
