President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will participate in the 44th and 45th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit in Vientianne, Laos from Oct. 8 to 11, 2024, Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Daniel Espiritu says in a Palace press briefing on October 4. The President is expected to attend 16-led engagements during the three-day Asean Summit. Marcos is also scheduled to have bilateral meetings with the leaders of Canada, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Japan. Espiritu said Marcos was expected to discuss developments in the South China Sea during the Asean Summit.
