A father's prayer from the grave; a daughter's filial response

A FEW days ago, I was invited to a private memorial Mass at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (the Burying Ground of Heroes) on the 35th death anniversary of the late former president Ferdinand Edralin Marcos. I accepted the invitation as a former member of the Marcos Cabinet, a practicing Catholic and a working columnist.

As a young man, I had served as Marcos' press secretary, presidential spokesman and secretary/minister of the Department/Ministry of Public Information.
