THE above title is most appropriate for this response to Rigoberto Tiglao's Sept. 20, 2024 column, titled "Another harebrained idea: Taking our dispute to the UN." Tiglao was commenting on my interview with The Manila Times on September 17.

In his column, Tiglao profusely used condescending terms, including "harebrained," "naivete," "dull-witted" and "ignorant." The use of these terms is reminiscent of communist polemics during the Cold War. It is taboo to most professional journalists. To achieve his goal so we will not submit the WPS dispute to the United Nations, Tiglao used a cheap trick by presenting a perverted view of the UN.
