Manila public schools, universities suspend classes on World Teachers' Day

MANILA, Philippines — Classes in public day care centers, elementary and high schools and in two universities are suspended on Friday in celebration of the National and World Teachers' Day, Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said.

Lacuna-Pangan signed Executive Order on Thursday to 'give recognition to the efforts of public school teachers in the city and to give them a wellness day.'
