CEBU Pacific late on Wednesday said that it had signed a purchase order for up to 152 Airbus aircraft in a deal worth approximately $24 billion, said to be the largest in Philippine aviation history.

The budget carrier said it agreed to a firm order of 70 new A321neos out of a total of 102 of this variant. The remaining 50 aircraft will comprise A320neos.
During the formal signing of the agreement between the airline, Airbus, and Pratt & Whitney, Cebu Pacific CEO Michael Szucs said the carrier saw potential growth across the country as the new aircraft would help increase the number of flights and open new routes as well.
