CARCAR CITY, Cebu — The National Center for Mental Health crisis hotline was busiest during the Covid-19 pandemic. Today, NCMH is still handling a substantial number of calls, many of which involve mental health concerns, particularly the subject of suicide.
Dr. Noel Reyes, NCMH's medical center chief, said on Thursday the call volumes have not returned to pre-pandemic levels, pointing to the ongoing mental health challenges faced by many Filipinos.
