Signal No. 4 up in Batanes, Babuyan Island as Typhoon Julian whips northern Luzon

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) placed Batanes and the northern portion of Babuyan Islands (Babuyan Island, Calayan Island) under Signal No. 4 as Typhoon Julian whipped extreme northern Luzon.

'Batanes and the north-eastern Babuyan Islands are now experiencing violent winds as Typhoon Julian continues to move over the Balintang Channel, the waterway that separates the two areas,' weather specialist Adlczar Aurelio said.
