Suwannapura grabs NW Arkansas lead

LOS ANGELES, California — Jasmine Suwannapura bagged five of her eight birdies on the back nine to surge to a one-stroke lead on Friday (Saturday in Manila) in the first round of the US LPGA NW Arkansas Championship in Rogers, Arkansas.

The 31-year-old from Thailand's birdie at Pinnacle Country Club's par-five 18th capped an eight-under-par 63 and saw her edge ahead of a group of four players sharing second on seven-under.
