34 students hurt as hanging bridge gives way

CAUAYAN CITY — Thirty-four students of Abuyo National High School were hurt when a hanging bridge collapsed in Sitio Melina, Abuyo, Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya on Thursday, local officials and police said.

In a public statement on Friday, Mayor Wilson Capia-ao clarified that 34 students, not 43, were hurt. He also said no teachers were hurt in the incident.
