MANILA, Philippines — From a tropical depression, "Julian" has intensified into a tropical storm, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its 11 a.m. bulletin on Saturday, the weather bureau said "Julian" was 465 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
