EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT

AT age 48, Yuval Noah Harari has published several iconic books — including 'Sapiens' (in Hebrew in 2011 and in English in 2014), 'Homo Deus' in 2015, and 'Nexus' on Sept. 10, 2024. Harari is an Israeli medievalist and professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

In 'Sapiens,' Harari traces the history of our species from 'our evolutionary separation from other primates through cognitive revolution, agricultural revolution,' etc. From that background, 'Homo Deus' attempts to 'extrapolate into the future, in particular asking how our morality and goals will evolve with technology — once the notion of free will dissolves.' One gets a sense that Harari is worried about the future.
