Rescue operations continue in Japan

(UPDATE) WAJIMA — Rescue and recovery teams continued to work on Sunday in central Japan after it was pounded by floods and landslides that left one dead and at least six missing.

Unprecedented heavy rains that hit the area from Saturday began to subside, leaving muddy scenes of destruction as the national weather agency urged residents to stay vigilant for loose ground and other dangers.
