To Senate: Investigate national ID fiasco now

I INTENDED to continue my article from last week, "Inquiries in aid of legislation uncover lawmakers' defects" (https: //www.manilatimes.net/2024/09/14/opinion/columns/inquiries-in-aid-of-legislation-uncover-lawmakers-defects/1971331), evaluating the remaining senators' performances during their inquiry into Alice Guo and her associates.

However, recent events have prompted a change of focus. A Quezon City court has issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), compelling it to maintain its contract with AllCard Inc., the supplier of the problematic national ID project. Given my extensive coverage of this issue, I feel compelled to address this development first, postponing the continuation of last week's column.
