DURING the heated debate that ensued at the hearing on the proposed budget for the Office of the Vice President, the issue of tradition was raised. And it was suggested that perhaps the younger legislators, or those neophyte representatives who are on their first terms, may not be familiar with these traditions.
They may not be. But a perusal of the performance of some of these neophytes would reveal that these new and/or younger (simply because some who are new are not necessarily young anymore) members in fact raises some hope for a body that is now being weighed down by the irrelevance of some jaded traditions.
