BACOLOD CITY — The Sangguniang Bayan of San Enrique in Negros Occidental on Monday passed a resolution declaring a state of calamity in the municipality due to effects of the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Ferdie.
The resolution cited the September 15 report of the San Enrique Municipal Disaster Risk Management Council on a prolonged heavy rain resulting in a massive flooding in all parts of the town that affected 9,262 families or 29,823 individuals, of which 859 families or 1,945 individuals were evacuated as of 10 a.m. on Sunday.
