BAGUIO CITY — Boxer Hergie Bacyadan did not win a medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics but he was warmly welcomed in his hometown Kalinga with a ceremony befitting for a gold medalist.

The 29-year-old Bacyadan was first welcomed by proud villagers and local officials of Taloctoc in Tanudan, Kalinga who rendered him with cultural presentations and was blessed by a respected elder during traditional rites.
