BUENAVISTA, Quezon — The mayor here is in hot water after a case was filed against him before the Office of the Ombudsman by members of a village council.
The case was filed by Barangay Mabutag council members against Reynaldo Rosilla Jr., the incumbent mayor of Buenavista, whom they accused of violating Batas Pambansa Bilang 265, an Act Prohibiting the Extraction of Gravel and Sand from Beaches, and Providing Penalties Therefor, Philippine Mining Act 7942 in relation to Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Administrative Order 2010-21 and Republic Act 3019, Sec. 3 (Grave Misconduct and Abuse of Authority).
