DMCI Power Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Isidro Consunji on Monday said off-grid areas, or the farthest islands in the country using electricity through the Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG), should be exempted from the coal moratorium.
In a dinner meeting, Consunji explained that, aside from being unable to access power via conventional means, remote areas in the provinces also lack proper transmission facilities.
