CEBU CITY — Bohol province has declared a state of calamity as dengue cases for this year surged past 5,800 with 14 confirmed deaths.

Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado made this decision after the Provincial Anti-Dengue Task Force recommended immediate action to address the outbreak, which has overwhelmed health services in the province.
