Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa gave assurances that the spread of mpox clade 2 has been managed despite an expected increase in cases.

Meeting recently with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID), Herbosa said he anticipates the number of mpox cases to rise "because we are testing as fast and as broad as we can. Increasing case counts does not mean increasing infections."
