UST blasts UE, gets off to winning start in UAAP

MANILA, Philippines — The new-look UST Growling Tigers got off to a winning start at the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament after blasting the UE Red Warriors, 70-55, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, September 8.

Infused with transferring stars Forth Padrigao from Ateneo and Kyle Paranada from UE, the Growling Tigers zoomed to an 18-8 first quarter lead and controlled the game for the rest of the way, dousing every comeback attempt by fellow-debuting Red Warriors.
